The COOLIT units are designed for indoor applications and we use advanced compressor technology to further reduce mechanical noise. The blowers or fans are all centrifugal type and reduce the air noise of the unit. The dB rating for this unit varies because of the installation methods but is typically less than 58 dB.
Yes, the COOLIT3000 Series is a true air conditioner and some moisture is removed from the air which results in condensate. The COOLIT Series have dual 2.5 gallon condensate tanks and an internal, fully operational condensate pump. You decide which method works best for your application.
Condensate generation is based on various temperature and humidity levels as well as user installation and control settings. In the warm, humid summer months the amount of condensate generated will be greater than in the cool, dry winter months.
There are two internal condensate tanks which each hold approximately 2.5 gallons, for a total of 5 gallons. When the tanks are full the COOLIT unit will shut off to prevent condensate overflow. You must empty the tanks and properly reseat the tanks in the compartment before the unit will operate.
The COOLIT3000 Series has a built-in condensate pump that can be used to allow continuous uninterrupted cooling. The pump has a 15′ lift capability which will get you up to the drop ceiling level and allow for connection to a drain line.
The COOLIT3000 Series has a built-in condensate pump that comes with 25′ of 3/8″ plastic tubing. You may require more tubing than what is supplied with the pump. You can either attach the new section of tubing to the supplied tubing with a coupler or purchase a new section of tubing to fit the required length of your condensate drain line. You can go as far as you need to with the tubing as long as you keep the tubing sloping down at an angle. Again, if you need to go a long distance to your drain, we recommend that you go up as much as you can (up to 15′) then go towards your drain with the tubing sloping down at an angle.
No, you do not need to vent the COOLIT3000 Series to the outside. If you are cooling an enclosed equipment environment you do need to discharge the condenser air (warm air) out of the space you are trying to cool. The warm air duct is built-in to the top of the unit, and allows for condenser air discharge into the ceiling plenum area, out a window, or through a wall.
The warm air duct that comes with the COOLIT3000 Series is enough to reach the ceiling of a standard commercial building. You can add a few more feet of ducting but you must keep your duct run as straight as possible.
Unit maintenance is quick and easy. The COOLIT3000 Series has a totally sealed refrigeration system. It should not be necessary to recharge your unit. The only regular preventative maintenance is cleaning/replacing the filters. If you have been using the automatic condensate pump system, you need to keep the drain line clear.
Before storing the unit you want to ensure the evaporator coil is dry and the condensate is emptied from the tanks. First you would operate the COOLIT3000 Series in the fan mode for about 5 minutes to dry out the evaporator coil and get all the moisture off of the coil. Turn the unit off, empty the condensate tanks, and wipe down the cabinet with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Your COOLIT unit will be in prime shape when your next cooling need arises.
That depends on what is in the area you are trying to cool. All air conditioning units are rated in BTU, or British Thermal Unit, which is a unit of measure. There are 12,000 BTU to 1 ton of air conditioning. For equipment cooling we need to determine the amount of power being used by the equipment in the room so we can do a basic heat load calculation.
There is no way to tell. The COOLIT3000 Series will give you approximately a 20°F temperature differential - for instance, if your room is 80°F, the unit will deliver approximately 60°F air. This does not mean that your room will be 60°F... that all depends on the heat load in the room.
Absolutely, as long as the UPS is properly sized.
We do not recommend that you operate the COOLIT3000 Series using an extension cord. If an extension cord is required, use a cord rated at least 20 amps at 250 volts with a grounding type attachment plug and grounding type connector (load fitting).
The COOLIT3000 Series is a mechanical device and could potentially put noise onto the line when the compressor starts and stops. A dedicated line is not required but would certainly be recommended if your computer and electronic equipment is not protected by a UPS or surge suppresser.
The COOLIT3300 model comes complete with the integral expandable/retractable warm air duct system for the condenser air. The standard ducting kit allows you to duct the warm air into the drop ceiling area, a return air duct, out a window, or through a wall. The COOLIT3000 model allows you great flexibility for ducting the cold air and warm air. This model is easily adaptable with standard fittings and duct available from many supply stores.
The COOLIT3000 Series is designed for quick set-up. IF YOU CAN UNPACK THE BOX, YOU CAN SET UP THE UNIT. Installation requires no tools; accessory parts simply slide in place or snap together. If you elect to use the optional condensate pump you may require the services of a handyman or plumber, to run your condensate drain line.
Just a few companies who depend on ADAPT to cool their hot spots.
