Be ready so you can safeguard your business and resume business activity as soon after clean up as possible. ![Get-Ready-for-Hurricane-season-with-spot-coolers](https://www.airpacinc.com/hs-fs/file-15412007-jpg/images/noaa_hurricane_pic.jpg?width=493&name=noaa_hurricane_pic.jpg) **What to expect this year** The hurricane season begins June 1st and runs through November 30th - six months - that's a looonnnggg season, if you ask me! Here are the predictions: - 12 - 18 Named storms with winds greater than 39 mph. - 6 - 10 or these storms could become hurricanes with winds greater than 74 mph. - 3 - 6 of the hurricanes could become major hurricanes with winds 111 mph or higher - these are category 3, 4 & 5 storms. Our "seasonal" average is 11 named storms, 6 hurricanes and 2 major hurricanes. **How to Plan for Disaster** [FEMA](http://www.fema.org) has a fabulous website packed with excellent guides and resources to help you not only [plan and prepare for disasters](http://www.fema.gov/plan/index.shtm) but also [recover and rebuild](http://www.fema.gov/rebuild/index.shtm).     And here's a special site devoted to [help small businesses plan to stay in business](http://www.ready.gov/business/) -- because "Every Business Should Have an Emergency Plan."  [Emergency air conditioning](https://www.airpacinc.com/portable-applications/portable-air-conditioning-for-disaster-recovery-applications/) will help restore and repair your business operations. Check out the post on [10 Tips for Quick Emergency Spot Cooling](https://www.airpacinc.com/blog/bid/42938/10-Tips-for-Quick-Emergency-Spot-Cooling)**.** I'm hoping the scientists have it all wrong and we have a lazy hot summer with storms that don't amount to much more than afternoon thunderstorms.  Oh, a little thunder and lightening isn't too bad at the end of the day, when you're ready to curl up with a good book!  Plan for the worst but hope for the best. Go on and start your emergency plan today. Are you ready for Hurricane season? What will you do to prepare? P.S. Please spread the word about Hurricane Preparedness Week.
